Who Wears Short Shorts?!

It is officially Summer. And you know what that means...
Yep. These bad boys are coming out. 

And quite frankly, I'd love it if I didn't feel like my inner thighs were being suffocated in them.

I am a naturally skinny girl (thank you to my genes). But, I like to call myself the "skinny fat girl" because I am not as healthy as I would like to be. I need to clean up my diet a bit, and take more protein in. I used to really be on a kick with working out when I was still in school. I would work out 4-5 times a week and my diet was mostly protein, fruits, and vegetables. I remember how good I felt about myself, how much energy I had, how clear my skin was, having definition in my core/arms, and having toned legs and lifted glutes. I miss that.

I just kind of let myself go a little, and I want to get back on track. I went rollerblading today and then tonight I was going to go on my treadmill, but opted for Netflix. Yes, Netflix has great workout DVD's available. I have a few friends who have tried the CRUNCH: SUPER SLIMDOWN. 
Well, for not being consistent with working out - it kicked my ass tonight. It moves at a pretty good tempo, while combining yoga and pilates. It was relaxing because of the yoga, but the pulsing movements of the pilates definitely burned some cals. 

I've always been a huge advocate that you can only achieve good results if you have a gym membership. Well, this summer I want to see what I can do in the convenience of my own home. I'll probably end up getting bored and joining a gym. But, we'll see! I have a few options to choose from in my very own basement.
My treadmill.
The TotalGym.
Dumbbells are a must.
I like to play Tennis. That could be a good workout.

I used to rollerblade all the time when I was younger. I currently own a pink pair of rollerblades. Kind of embarrassing, I know. But, it's great cardio and a good leg workout! Wish me luck!

  1. I'll have to try that video. I've done some Netflix pilates videos but have yet to find one that I enjoy. I am definitely a "fat skinny girl" myself...glutes are needing to be a little more lifted right now. Best of luck to both of us!

  2. My sister calls me skinny fat all the time! That is hilarious you posted that.. we sat there trying to figure out what I could be labeled and then she goes "Skinny fat" for sure hahah

  3. Ahh! The "skinny fat girls" unite!

    @Blace - I'm right there with you with the saggin booty. Walking lunges and doing step-ups definitely help lift the glutes. Good luck to both of us is right! I need all the good luck I can get haha.
