Ombre Hair & Chignons

I don't know about anyone else, but I get so bored with my hair so easily. I'm always changing the length and color. I just recently chopped off a whole combs length off. Loved it at the time, but I regret it now. I miss having long hair with flowy waves.

I'm curious to know what was the worst thing you've done to your hair? The worst thing I think I've done to mine is getting way too many blonde highlights. The picture above is my natural hair color. So imagine that being basically all blonde. Yikes! Not the greatest look, but I feel like every girl goes through a blonde phase.

Now, I'm just waiting anxiously for this mane to grow! Does anyone have any tips to  speed up the process? I've heard taking a Biotin supplement is supposed to help, but I've never tried it. I think the biggest thing is not using a lot of heat on it, using a heat protectant spray if you do, and not washing it daily.

My current hair obsessions right now are side chignons and ombre hair.
The side chignon is my go-to summer hairstyle. It's so easy to do, doesn't require a lot of time, and it keeps you cool. I just love the whole look of it. It's classy, yet so effortless.

I even chose a chignon as my hairstyle for my bff's wedding. All you need is a pony tail holder, a few bobby pins, a teasing comb, and hairspray. I like to tease my crown a bit because it pulls the look together. Depending on the look you're going for, you can opt for the rubber band or just bobby pins. The rubber band gives it a more controlled look and it's more secure. Using the bobby pins, gives it a more messy feel. Tease the crown, gather your hair off to the side, pin it up, and lastly pull random pieces around to frame your face. And VOILA! You're done!

I think my next change is going for the ombre look. Where you only lighten the ends of your hair. I think it's perfect for the summertime. I kind of want my hair to grow a little more before doing so.

  2. I love this look! So classy and chic yet simple at the same time.

The worst thing I ever did to my hair was talking my mom into letting me get a perm when I was 8 years old. It wasn't even professionally done - my aunt did it! I looked like a poodle. I know people always say that, but this time it was actually true. A brown-haired poodle.

  3. @Jodie - I did the same! And the worst part is that I have a widows peak, so eventually they'd split down the middle.

@Stephanie - That is seriously hilarious because I had the same thing when I was young!! It was awful. The other worst thing was my grandma giving me a pixie cut when I was little, ON TOP of the perm. So cute, let me tell you.
