I have ALWAYS been such a hopeless romantic. How could I not? I'm surrounded by family who all have amazing relationships and have been together for a long time. It mostly stems from my parents and my mothers parents.
My parents have been together for 24 years this past February and are still going very strong! They are STILL so in love with each other and have their "date nights". I love it, it makes me so happy. They met when my mom was eighteen and my dad was nineteen - crazy to think nowadays! Even younger for my grandparents. My grandma was fourteen and my grandpa was eighteen! But that was totally normal during that time. Now the ages seem to getting pushed farther back. Now that's not a bad thing. It's just a sign of the times.
Speaking of times - which era do you wish you could fall in love in? I wish I could fall in love during the 40s or 50s.
Sigh.

Yay for finding butterflies :) I've dated quite a few duds in my time, but let me tell you things happen when they're supposed to.
ReplyDeleteAnd I'd fall in love now; I like the way things are now :)
I just stumbled upon your blog! That Notebook scene is such a classic. Definitely warms my heart too! I think you're right when you say that relationships help to form us into the person we are today...hopefully a better, more mature person! haha :) Sometimes, things happen. Other times, things happen because they are perfectly planned and meant to be. In the end, it all works out (i think?!). :) Great blog, Happy 4th! MademoiselleMichael
