I am literally shaking to get my paws on one of these bad boys! Ever since I was in high school, I have always had a love for photography/media. I didn't take it as seriously as I do now, but the passion was always there.
Something hit me this past weekend while I was at Jay's graduation. He was in the same rut as I was after graduating undergrad. He wasn't happy in the field he sought out after, so he decided to go back to school. And now he has what he wanted all along - his MBA.
It's not solely about the going after your dreams factor. It's also because I'm finding myself sitting in front of my computer for hours on end, putting media projects together. I absolutely love it. I love combining all the right pictures together, I love finding the perfect music to go with them, and I love watching people's reactions when they watch what I've created.
I am finding myself becoming more and more obsessed with the whole Digital Media field. To the point where I am thinking about furthering my education. My degree is in Business and Organization Communication, as well as Interpersonal and Public Communication. But, I want more experience in digital and media content. Either way, I need more experience in the field so I can get a job doing what I love to do.
It just sounds like the right thing to do right now. I've been in such a funk after graduation and I think it's because I was having a difficult time narrowing down what I wanted to do. The communication field is so broad and there are numerous opportunities, but once you find your niche, you need the experience to back it up. I know I have the passion and drive for this, so we'll see what's next for me.
My dream would be to find a year long program for grad school, find a job, gain the experience, become established, and finally move out of Ohio. I love the quote, "When writing the story of your life - Don't let anyone else hold the pen."
